We value our UMS-Wright parents and teachers!

UMS-Wright recognizes the importance of parent and teacher partnerships, therefore it is our goal to provide opportunities to work together with administration to enrich the lives and education of our students. We believe the partnership is vital to students’ success, and we are grateful for the valuable role we play in our community!

Yesterday Teacher Appreciation Chairs [Elizabeth Otts (US), Shannon Cook (MS), Whitley Yarbrough (LS)] & PTA President Melanie Elliott distributed a take home family meal to our UMS-Wright faculty for the first full week of school. This serves as just one of many ways the PTA will be showing appreciation to our faculty throughout the year.

The PTA donated $150,000 to the UMS Wright Foundation last week at our end of the year PTA meeting! Mr. Robert Hope, the President of the UMS Wright Foundation, was there to accept the check. This donation goes directly back to our school! All the hard work of our PTA President, Hartley Winter, the Executive Board Melanie Elliott, Leanne Walsh, Courtney McMahon, Beth Liles, and Kelsey Moody, and all of the countless volunteers contributed to this. What a wonderful year and job well done!👏👏👏

🌟 Exciting news from Big Dog Week! Meet our “Artist of the Month,” the talented 8-year-old Griffith Winter from Mrs. Nolan’s class! 🎨 Griffith has a passion for drawing and he especially loves creating artwork with markers.

When he’s not busy making art, you can often find Griffith playing football and basketball with friends. His favorite colors are blue and orange, and he dreams of becoming a professional basketball player one day. 🏀 ⛹️‍♂️

Fun Fact: If Griffith could have any superpower, he would want to have the power to be invisible!

This past week we had a Schoolwide PTA Meeting. We had a great turnout! We were lucky enough to have Dr. Doug Barber come speak and give us some exciting new updates on what’s going on around our school. Dr. Barber brought a special guest, Sam Williams, our new head football coach! Go Bulldogs!🐾🐾

We are excited about the first PTA event of 2025, Bidding for the Bulldogs! Bidding for the Bulldogs is the PTA's largest fundraiser each year. However, this year we will have an online auction only. We will kick off Bidding for the Bulldogs with a Sip n' See on TODAY from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the PTA Headquarters. The address is 2654 Cameron Street, Suite S3. We will have refreshments and a sneak peek of the items that will be available for bidding via GiveSmart during the upcoming online auction. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Thank you to our Dogs on the Hunt Chairs, Courtney McMahon and Caroline Poole, along with everyone who volunteered their time for this event. A special thank you to the Top Dog sponsor, Joe Bullard Automotive, and to all the other sponsors that contributed to make this event a success.
